Canada Learning Bond

Helps your family get a head start on saving for your child’s education after high school. Eligible families will receive $500 now and $100 each year until your child turns 15. Bring both you and your child’s social Insurance Number (SIN).

Healthy Smiles Ontario

A program for children 17 and under who do not have access to any form of dental coverage. If eligible, your children will get regular dental services at no cost to you.

Check It Out drop-in clinics

There will be several early years professionals on site to answer questions about your child’s health, speech and language, nutrition, behaviour, and more.

Don't have your Social Insurance Number?
Service Canada will be on site to help you get your SIN. Bring your birth certificate, Permanent Resident Card, work or study permit for identification.

  • $10 grocery cards for all participants
  • Interpreters will be available in Arabic, Somali, Vietnamese and Chinese.

Public Information Sessions

The City will be hosting two information sessions for the Homeownership Down Payment Assistance Program:

  • Wednesday, April 8: McQuesten Community Centre, 785 Britannia Ave. East, Hamilton from 1 to 3 pm
  • Thursday, April 9: Eva Rothwell Centre at Robert Land, 460 Wentworth St. North, Hamilton from 6 to 8 pm

Get invovled with the City's 20,000 Homes Campaign

The City of Hamilton is seeking upwards of 100 volunteers to work shifts on Sunday April 26 and Monday April 27 to participate in our Registry Week for the 20,000 Homes Campaign.

Access to Housing helps citizens with the application process for subsidized housing and maintains a central waiting list for more than 11,000 units across the City. 

Domiciliary Hostel Program

The Domiciliary Hostel Program prevents homelessness by providing a subsidy for safe and affordable supported housing in a communal setting (Residential Care Facility) for people who require assistance with the daily activities of life.

Rent Bank Program

Tenants facing eviction for non-payment of rent can apply to receive financial assistance from the provincial rent bank program.
